ARPA has taken a giant step towards the future of green hydrogen by starting to rethink the pipes of its hydrogen production plant on the Canary Islands Oceanic Platform (PLOCAN). This pioneering project, which will become a world-class facility, marks a turning point in the deployment of hydrogen infrastructure in the marine environment.
A team of experts from ARPA, led by its director of new developments, Jesús Montero, has visited the PLOCAN facilities to begin redesigning the hydrogen gas pipelines that will feed the hydrogen station. This project is a major challenge due to the demanding transoceanic environment, but ARPA's experience and technology guarantee its success.
The ARPA hydrogen plant at PLOCAN will demonstrate the potential of green hydrogen as a clean and sustainable fuel for maritime transport and other applications, contributing to the decarbonisation of the sector and the fight against climate change.
ARPA is grateful for the collaboration of PLOCAN and reaffirms its commitment to the development of innovative solutions that promote sustainability and the transition to a low-carbon economy.
