ARPA TOOK PART IN THE INAUGURATION OF HYDROGEN WEEK, ORGANISED BY THE HYDROGEN FOUNDATION

Today Arpa took part in the inauguration of hydrogen week, organised by the hydrogen foundation,

our CEO, Clara ARPA, has reviewed the current rules and regulations and presented ARPA's proposal to optimise Aragon's energy plan,

proposing that the decarbonisation of industrial estates involves bringing together self-consumption systems in hybrid renewable energies

with storage of energy surpluses in the form of hydrogen gas and hydrogen-based heavy transport mobility, also decarbonised.

To be as competitive as possible in terms of energy costs and transport costs and achieve the CO2 emission targets set for 2030 and 2050.

The First Hydrogen Week in Aragon, which over the next five days will bring together the main national and international players in the field of hydrogen in Zaragoza, is now underway. The joint initiative of the Aragon Hydrogen Foundation and the Government of Aragon has made it possible to put together an ambitious programme of lectures, round tables, presentations and the exchange of experiences. Mar Vaquero, Vice-President and Minister of the Presidency, Economy and Justice of the Government of Aragon, was in charge of the institutional opening of the first Hydrogen Week. In her speech she pointed out that ‘this week is a unique opportunity to spread the knowledge and advantages of hydrogen as an energy source, because it is not only a viable solution for reducing our emissions, but also opens up new economic and employment opportunities for our community’. The vice-president recalled the leading role of the autonomous community in this field, ‘a position of leadership and global significance that has been achieved thanks to the conjunction of a series of factors that, together, make Aragon a reference in the hydrogen sector: the work of the Foundation, the drive of companies in the sector to innovate and generate economic activity, the support of the regional government to attract projects that create employment and the desire to also be a leader in the organisation of knowledge forums’. The first day of the conference provided an update on the status of some of the main hydrogen projects currently under development in Aragon. For its part, ARPA EMC has provided those present with an overview of the energy context in Aragon, focusing especially on hydrogen and its role. Tomorrow, Tuesday 11 March, which will be conducted entirely in English, will be dedicated to what the different European hydrogen valleys are doing, with representatives from all of them, including the regions that make up the Ebro Hydrogen Corridor (Basque Country, Navarre, Aragon and Catalonia).https://lnkd.in/dZmfreuf
