Circularity and innovation: returning to our roots to move forward
With a powerful reflection, Clara emphasised that the true circular economy consists of recovering ancestral practices: ‘In circularity, we have to go back to what our grandparents did,’ she said, defending a vision where reuse and resource efficiency are priorities, without losing sight of innovation and technology as allies in adapting to the present day.
The importance of local management and international collaboration
The interview also addressed issues such as emergency management. Clara highlighted Spanish creativity and adaptability as key elements, in contrast to the rigidity of other more protocol-based models. She emphasised the importance of having well-trained teams who act with compassion and efficiency in critical situations.

Sustainability and Sustainable Development Goals: beyond theory
Clara Arpa stressed that commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) must go beyond formal declarations. For her, fulfilling the 2030 Agenda requires real action, tangible investments and a change of mindset, both in government and in businesses and among citizens.
In his words, sustainability is not optional: it is an urgent necessity. That is why he insisted that every company must be clear that ‘sustainability is not important, it is essential.’
