FIRST DELIVERY OF A HYDROGEN TRAIN IN SPAIN
The first hydrogen train will be launched in Spain in June 2022 with the assistance and equipment of ARPA.
The hydrogen is dispensed using a hydrogen dispenser designed and manufactured by ARPA EMC. With a dispensing flow capacity of 3.6 kg/min, controlled by a specific algorithm and the corresponding proportional valve and cooling system equipment.
ARPA signs a consultancy contract with CAF in February 2023 to continue optimising dispensing times.
This project forms part of a European programme for hydrogen-powered rail transport.
ARPA is a direct subcontractor of the CNH2 consortium and CAF in equipment and dispensing.
ARPA has shown a firm commitment to sustainable mobility through its innovations in hydrogen technology.
Its participation in key infrastructure projects for the dispensing and storage of hydrogen reinforces its role as a relevant player in the transition towards more environmentally friendly transport. The use of hydrogen as an energy source in the railway sector not only significantly reduces carbon emissions, but also positions ARPA as a pioneer in the development of advanced technological solutions that promote the decarbonisation of transport, in line with European sustainability objectives.
